The Beginners Guide To (Chapter 1)

7 Most Common Bugs Found in Homes

It is true to say that a vast majority of households at least encounter bugs in their homes. If you have encountered bugs, they are probably in the list below because below are some of the most common bugs that you will come across in homes. You will not necessarily find all of them at once, although its possible, you will at least find one.

The first bug on our list is the bedbug. I know the name suggests that bedbugs are found in beds but that is not the case. Bedbugs are found in wooden furniture, dark corners, clothes, beds and even wooden parts of the house. One of the myths surrounding bedbugs is that they only occur in dirty places but even those with clean homes suffer bedbug infestation. Some of the ways of bringing bedbugs into your home is by coming into contact with furniture, a person or even a house that is infested with bedbugs. You can hire a pest control company if destroying them yourself proves difficult.
You will find spiders in homes from time to time. There are so many species of spiders and depending on your location, you will find a different kind of spiders. Spider bites can be quite harmful even though most species of spiders are relatively harmless.
You will find ants in most homes today. Just like other bags there are a variety of species unique to an eare, for example, Florida ants are unique to the state of Florida. Even though they may not be there in a full-blown infestation you are bound to come across one or two scouting for food for the colony. Killing a single ant will not benefit you so instead you could have a pest control company deal with an entire colony.
On our list is termites. Termites have made a name for themselves as destructive bugs. You need to control the termites in your home if at all you wish to avoid any extensive loss and damage to parts of your home.
Cockroaches are probably the most resilient of bugs seeing that they seem to adapt to the conditions around them. You may find that if a certain food source is depleted they will find something else to feed on to survive. It is important to deal with them when they are few because when they multiply, they become hard to manage.
Ticks cannot miss on our list of common bugs. Lyme disease has been associated with ticks and the symptoms include rash and even flu-like symptoms. Ticks are known to attack land mammals especially pets and livestock but they can easily transfer to human beings.
The last common bug is centipedes. If you want to get rid of centipedes then you should start by getting rid of other bugs because they feed on other bugs.
The above mentioned bugs are the bugs most likely to be found in homes today.
